Pastor Long & Sister Long
Brother Long received the Holy Ghost at church camp when he was 12. At that time, the Lord also called him to preach. The Lord spoke to him and said, “I want you to preach my word.” Though he didn’t surrender to that call immediately, the Lord continued to pursue Brother Long until he answered the call.
That same year at camp, he met Latisha Foster, who would later become his wife. They married in 1996 and were blessed with three sons, Alex, Chance, and Ethan.
The Longs attended First Pentecostal Church in Guy, Arkansas, under Rev. Mike Blakely for around 11 years. Brother Blakely felt it was time for the Longs to search for a city and dig out a church.
Brother Long had a burden for the River Valley area and started to search for God’s will in that area. At that time, his dad, Brother Wayne Long, was pastoring the church in Atkins, Arkansas.
When asked by his dad if he intended to pastor again, Bro Long told him that he was currently looking for a building to start a church. It was during this conversation that his dad asked him to take the church in Atkins, Arkansas. That same afternoon, following their discussion, Bro Wayne Long received a phone call saying that he had stage 4 cancer.
Following that conversation in April 2018, after praying for direction from the Lord and with the blessing of his pastor, the Longs came to Atkins.
